About us

Our art is in turning Spaces into Places

At Ocean, we turn Spaces into Places through a deep understanding of our environments.

We bring together brands and audiences across the UK, Netherlands, Nordics, and Germany.

We define ourselves by building commercial value from existing Spaces and turning them into high value Places, creating multi-sensory brand experiences that leap out of places and into memories.

We call it The Art of Outdoor.

The Art of Outdoor is a single minded focus on desirable audiences and locations wrapped in creativity, tech and audience data. These are the elements that are core to our values and commitment to our clients and stakeholders.

This is how we turn Spaces into Places.

Destinations in their own right

We handpick only the busiest and best places for our screens, and we operate the most iconic in UK Out of home advertising. These Ask for it by name® locations include the world famous Piccadilly Lights, BFI IMAX, Battersea Power Station and Marble Arch in London, Liverpool Media Wall and Printworks SkyLights in Manchester  – the largest ceiling screen in Europe.

Our uniqueness also comes from our networks at scale, such as The Grid and The Loop. We are the only DOOH media owner with a national, city centre offering in large and small format, with 80% of our screens offering full motion.

Proving and improving OOH effectiveness

Insight led

We’ve always had an insight led approach, after pioneering Neuroscience in DOOH for 10 years. Having also worked with the likes of Ebiquity, Opinium and Lumen, we are always on the look out for our next project to help grow the Out of home industry. We recognise our ongoing responsibilities are to test and prove the effectiveness of DOOH.

Creatively driven

Although we know the value of a data led business, we are driven by the power of strong creative advertising above all else. Whether it’s pitching ideas to our partners, launching the latest from Ocean Studio such as DeepScreen® Alive or the Ocean brand itself, we are known for going the extra mile. We have proven this every year since launching our Digital Creative Competition in 2009. Five winners to-date have gone onto win at Cannes and we’ve celebrated countless more across our screens.

Cutting edge confidence

We have invested heavily in technology and expertise from the start, so you can feel confident in our abilities to optimise your campaign performance and your return on investment.

With the right technological solution for any campaign, from 3D DeepScreen® to Vehicle Detection Technology (VDT), live data feeds to Augmented Reality, not only are we known throughout the industry for executing each project to the highest standard, our teams are always proactively horizon scanning for relevant new solutions.

After all, the game is to stay ahead of it.

Coming together for creative and commercial excellence

Media and creative partnerships

We have built our relationships on trust over time, and value our connections with media agencies, creative agencies, brands and landlords equally. The best reflection of this is when we bring everyone together at our best-in-class industry events, such as our Digital Creative Competition.

Commercial partners

These relationships include managing exclusive long term contracts with two of the largest public authorities in Europe, Manchester City Council and Birmingham City Council. We also hold exclusive external rights for Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City, the largest urban shopping destinations in Europe.
