This weekend, Ocean Outdoor’s Our Local Heroes campaign broke across 12 of Ocean’s cities and appears on Landsec’s Piccadilly Lights in London this week.

Our Local Heroes focuses on all the professions that are on the front line, keeping our cities going. The campaign is supported by a series of straplines which reference each city in which it is being played out, providing contextual relevance to those individuals and their communities.

Designed by Ocean Studio, the creative is a collection of multiple executions thanking critical workers including teachers, nurses and doctors and other NHS staff, carers, the fire services, the police, coffee shop workers, waste collectors, retailers, public transport drivers and all the front line delivery services.

The campaign broke across all of Ocean’s city and roadside inventory and will break on Landsec’s Piccadilly Lights this week.

Ocean Outdoor joint managing directors Phil Hall and Steve George said: “These are extraordinary times and people are doing incredible work to keep our people safe, cared for and our cities and the country running as best as is safely possible.

“These professions, and others, cannot be placed into self-isolation, so it’s our way of drawing attention to their selfless work and show our gratitude. It’s time’s like this that a thank you goes a long way.”

Ocean’s city screens have also been running NHS campaigns advising people how they can best protect themselves and others from catching and spreading COVID-19.

Because of the nature and scale of the job at hand, Ocean will be working with its landlords and Local Authorities in the coming days to explore further how out of home can further support the effort with information and advice.
