‘The Curve’ joins Ocean Outdoor’s West End DOOH portfolio

The curtain has lifted on the West End’s latest Digital Out of Home landmark. Leicester Square newcomer The Curve made its debut today (Monday, 5th October).

Measuring 166 square metres, London’s latest large format LED advertising screen is flanked by two existing portrait LED screens, providing a total 240 square metres for full motion and static advertising, brand takeovers, special activations and events.

Ocean Outdoor UK CEO Nick Shaw said: “Surrounded by theatreland and home to some of the UK’s biggest red carpet moments, The Curve gives brands a presence in the heart of one of the world’s most famous entertainment districts. As we enter the golden quarter, I can’t think of a better stage to capture audiences, influence intent and prime Christmas messages.” The Curve is one of only two commercial advertising opportunities in Leicester Square, the other owned by Vue Cinema. Both are now managed by Ocean, forming part of its West End DOOH portfolio. This also includes Landsec’s world famous Piccadilly Lights, two 50 square metre banners in Regent Street and a large format screen in Carnaby Street.

The Curve

Part of the continued long-term evolution and regeneration of Leicester Square, The Curve overlooks the main pedestrianised walkway leading into the square from Charing Cross Road. Owned by leading West End property company Soho Estates, the screen sits behind bespoke curved glazing, forming part of the building’s new facade.

In keeping with Leicester Square’s heritage status, full motion and 3D DeepScreen style content will be available on the large format screen to mark film premieres, cultural, community and charity events.

Leicester Square hosts more than 50 red carpet film premieres annually. It is home to the biggest LEGO store worldwide, and has direct links to Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus and Soho, with 40 million entries and exits to and from Leicester Square tube station annually.

There have been illuminated signs in Leicester Square since 1904, adding to its reputation as a world class cultural destination.
