Ocean partner with SAMH and Mind for World Mental Health Day

This year, we were proud to once again support and raise awareness of World Mental Health Day (10th October 2026) across our UK screens.

With mental health problems making up 20% of the illnesses treated by the NHS and one in four people experiencing a mental health problem in any given year (Mind, 2026), highlighting World Mental Health Day is more important than ever.

In Scotland, SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), ran a campaign promoting The Nook, a network of free, walk-in mental health and wellbeing hubs, and the largest mental health charity initiative in Scotland’s history. Last month, The Nook marked a milestone moment, as it welcomed its 10,000th visitor across its Glasgow and Aberdeen hubs, less than a year after launching.

SAMH’s campaign announced that The Nook is coming to Edinburgh in Spring 2027, going live across Westfield St James Quarter and large format in Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres. The campaign shared a simple, reassuring message that ‘support is just around the corner’.

Kenny Stewart, Head of Public Affairs and Communications at SAMH, said “The Nook is Scotland’s first national network of walk-in mental health hubs. With more than 10,000 people having already visited Nooks in Glasgow and Aberdeen, we know that the Nook is giving people the help they need, fast.

“We can’t wait to bring The Nook to Edinburgh in the Spring, and we want to let as many people as possible know that support is on its way. Thank you to Ocean Outdoor for helping us spread the word with advertising space in the capital and beyond.”

In London, Dreams and Mind teamed up on The Cube @ Battersea Power Station, with an interactive activation centred on the message ‘Better sleep. Better minds.’.

With sleep experts on hand, passersby could pick up free products, including weighted blankets and personalised mindfulness journals, whilst learning about how a good night’s sleep promotes improved mental health.

Suspended directly above the activation, The Cube displayed some of the intrusive thoughts which might keep us up at night, reminding us how important our self-care and wellbeing are.

Siobhan King, Chief Marketing Officer at Dreams, said: “Helping people sleep better is what we’re all about at Dreams, and we know how closely connected sleep and mental health are. For a lot of people, it’s at nighttime when worries feel their loudest and it can be hardest to switch off.

That’s why I’m really proud that Dreams [funded] extended opening hours for Mind’s Infoline over the World Mental Health Day weekend.

Together with our £5 donation from every purchase and our Battersea Power Station installation, we want to use World Mental Health Day to encourage people to open up and have some more open conversations about mental health, all while raising funds for Mind and SAMH.”

Focusing on this year’s theme of live experiences being heard, staff in our London office stepped away from their desks for a mental health break, with freshly made smoothies and a wellness walk around some of London’s picturesque parks.
