Memorable extracts from The Queen’s Message to the Nation appeared on the world-famous Piccadilly Lights in London during the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
The Queen’s expressions of support and inspiration were displayed on the screen from 10 am on Wednesday, April 7, until Sunday, April 19. It marked the first time the digital screen showcased a direct message from Her Majesty The Queen. Three uplifting messages, accompanied by a photograph of The Queen, were showcased, including the resonating phrase “we will meet again” and gratitude towards NHS frontline workers, care workers, and essential roles. The campaign aimed to spread hope and support amid unprecedented times and was a beacon of light for Londoners during challenging times.
