Universal marks the release of its all action comedy thriller The Fall Guy with an explosive, special effects out of home stunt on the BFI IMAX in London featuring co-stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.

The studio’s customised installation mimics how stunts are performed and brought to life by combining sequenced theatrical lighting with the IMAX’s dynamic Edison lighting.

Replicating sparks and explosions, the banner’s 48,000 LEDs turn from white to yellow, orange and red across all elevations of the mammoth Waterloo landmark.

The creative includes 14.1m tall images of Ryan Gosling as a down and out stuntman, and Emily Blunt who plays a director hired to helm a blockbuster.

Created and planned by MediaCom, the OOH campaign runs from 22 April to 5 May. The BFI IMAX is managed by Ocean Outdoor.

A special screening of director and former stuntman David Leitch’s film was held at the BFI IMAX on Monday (22 April). The picture is released in cinemas on 2 May.

A celebrated seat of creative theatre, the IMAX is London’s largest banner site, delivering 3.2 million impacts a week (source: ROUTE).
