Space for a Better World
OCL Day one

Space for a Better World blended immersive with Digital Out of Home for a 3 day Sea and Space exhibition that marked 55 years of Earth Day.

the cHALLENGE

To celebrate 55 years of Earth Day and the power of our ecosystem, Space for a Better World transformed the immersive space below Piccadilly Lights into a Sea and Space exhibition.

The objective was to spark conversations of change and inspire people to better understand the connection between sea and space. The challenge was to use The Venue in a way that was engaging on an emotional level, and allowed visitors to immersive themselves in a completely unique, out of this world experience.

the SOLUTION

Over 3 days, members of the public experienced a world of Sea and Space, getting up close with pieces such as space-suit replicas and a replication of a blue whale heart. Attendees could walk around and view short films and documentaries, as well as participate in panel discussions and Q&A sessions from some of the most influential ocean storytellers, scientists and marine biologists. The event culminated in a VIP gala dinner and an inspirational tribute in Piccadilly Circus, where astronauts Charlie Duke, Tim Peake and others gathered to watch the unveiling of a Sea and Space mosaic on Piccadilly Lights.
