Valentine’s Day sees brands spreading the love

There’s tonnes of dates in the calendar that brands can piggyback on for their advertising campaigns this year. Whether it’s Wimbledon, the World Cup, Christmas or Black Friday, there’s so many relevant conversations to utilise, in order to drive awareness and sales to your brand during this time.

To show a great example of this, see some of the fantastic campaigns which graced our screens last week for Valentine’s Day, from charities to fashion brands – each coming from a different angle on the subject of ‘love’.

The first campaign, from charity Women’s Aid, carried a really important message of domestic abuse awareness. Using the original 1960s ‘love is’ cartoons but turning the message on its head, the adverts were a really important way to make viewers think about what a healthy relationship is, on a day celebrating the subject. Their agency was Engine and the advert was shown up and down the country but this picture is outside Birmingham Bullring.

Another great campaign was the second one here from Amazon, focusing on the literature arm of their business. Playing on the bookworm’s love of literature, the advert showcased different new book releases to encourage consumers to fall in love with a new read this Valentine’s Day. The advertisement was shown on screens around London, including this one in Leicester Square.

The next campaign was up in Edinburgh to showcase Scottish gin brand Eden Mill. Whether you were looking to grab a G&T before a fancy Valentine’s Day dinner or pour yourself a glass for one before settling down to Netflix, what’s not to love about gin? It’s a winner on all fronts and a great quick win for some Valentine’s Day advertising.

The last advertisement we’ve picked out is this Gucci one up in Manchester, outside the Arndale Centre. Showcasing the jewellery arm of their brand, this advertisement on our ‘Loop’ screens will have worked as a welcome reminder to pick up something special and sparkly for your other half! A simple and classic ad, this is the perfect spot for the large footfall sweeping past to get in some last minute Valentine’s Day shopping.

Find out more about some of the opportunities coming up in the calendar to make sure you get your brand in the spotlight with the right message at the right time. There are also opportunities to sponsor content on our screens for upcoming events, such as Wimbledon. There’s loads of opportunities to really enhance your brand so get in touch today and let us help find something perfect for you.
