The Trinity Mirror used the solar eclipse as an opportunity to show case their reader numbers in comparison with The Sun, thereby demonstrating that they are “eclipsing The Sun”, on digital out of home.
Booked by Posterscope Manchester/ Amplify Carat Manchester, the campaign dominated Eat Street @ Westfield London for an hour between 9am-10am to coincide with the eclipse itself, with a picture of an eclipse and the figures to demonstrate the elevated readership. During this time a brand ambassador gave out solar eclipse glasses to people who walk by, to ensure they could safely enjoy the real thing.
