Global live entertainment company Trafalgar Entertainment has awarded Ocean the contract to manage this premium new Digital Out of Home (DOOH) opportunity in the heart of the UK’s City of Culture 2025.

The state-of-the-art large format screen occupies the facade of the newly restored Bradford Live. Measuring an impressive 195.84 square-metres, Bradford Media Wall is equipped with full-motion capabilities and Ocean Labs React technology, giving brands the chance to deliver dynamic and engaging DOOH campaigns.

The brand launch partner is LNER which this month more than triples its daily direct services between Bradford and London. The Freedom all the Way campaign featuring its dancing red-haired puppet runs until 7th July. The campaign was planned through Manning Gottlieb OMD and Talon.

Trafalgar Entertainment group commercial director Chris McGuigan said: “Bradford Live is a world class venue which reflects the spirit and optimism of a thriving, multicultural city. Bradford Media Wall is a superb addition, and we look forward to working with Ocean to bring it to life as part of the city’s Capital of Culture celebrations.”

Ocean Outdoor chief commercial officer Nick Shaw said: “This is an outstanding new opportunity for advertisers to reach and engage with diverse audiences in a high traffic city centre area with original, interactive content.”

Ocean also operates Media Walls in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Birmingham which form part of The Grid network, delivering more than 10 million impacts a fortnight.

Bradford Live will host a diverse range of shows including live music and comedy, attracting around 300,000 visitors annually. Its events will appeal to broad audiences, featuring top acts from British, Asian and international music scenes, comedians and family-oriented entertainment.

The 3,500 capacity venue is managed by Trafalgar Entertainment on behalf of Bradford Council. The former art deco cinema first opened in the 1930s, has undergone a £50 million restoration programme and is currently undergoing a final £3 million refit ahead of its reopening as part of Bradford’s year as City of Culture. Bradford is the UK’s seventh largest city, ahead of Bristol and Edinburgh.

This is the first DOOH screen operated by Ocean in Bradford and West Yorkshire. Ocean now has a presence in 18 UK cities.
