Energy provider E.ON Next builds on its ‘beat the cap’ guarantee by harnessing the dynamic lighting of London’s biggest banner, the BFI IMAX, to shine a light on its money-saving tariff.
Three animated characters, a leaf, a spark and a sun, are illustrated using bespoke LED installations which remain “charged” at all times. The remainder of the 1,734 square-metre canvas intermittently glows red, “charged up” every 10 minutes using the IMAX’s Edison creative light show which is triggered an hour before sunset every day, dimming down from 11pm as the capital city itself powers down. The IMAX LEDs were upgraded in 2024 to meet sustainability goals, reducing energy usage by 30%, making it the ideal canvas.
The installation, which reminds people to rethink their current provider to stay below the Ofgem energy cap, appears for two weeks until 10th March. It follows supporting work across large format DOOH displays featuring the three notable characters. Creative work is by Ravi Sohanpal and Daniel Forni.
