We put our money where our mouth is on all things equity, diversity and inclusion.
All in Champion
We are proud to be recognised as an All In Champion by the Advertising Association, which recognises the significant efforts and initiatives we have supported and implemented to become an inclusive employer and improve representation in the industry.
This recognises our commitment to improvement in eight areas; Black talent, Disabled talent, Social Mobility, Women, Asian talent, Older talent, Mental Health and LFBTQ+. We want the communities around our screens to feel like we represent them fully and fairly.
Throughout the calendar year, we work with charities and non-profit organisations to amplify key messages across our screens and internal comms, which are timely or relevant to a location, awareness day or cultural moment. Since 2020, we have donated at least £7 million in screen value annually to charities and non-profit organisations.
Creating a level playing field
We have a particular focus on celebrating inclusivity in sport. We’ve partnered with Team GB since 2015, Special Olympics GB since 2021, ParalympicsGB (2022) and UK Deaf Sport (2024). We are the only brand to partner with all four organisations at once, which is a key element of our wider Level Playing Field campaign.
Example initiatives and partnerships
We have joined the BRiM community and are committed to improving black representation at Ocean. We work with MEFA, holding a position on their Advisory Board, and advertise our vacancies on their jobs board. Our employees take part in Mentorship Programmes run by MEFA and also WACL to support development and help industry networking.
In 2025, we announced two new partnerships which showcase our commitment to women’s sport. As part of our three year deals with Women’s Super League Football and the Red Roses (part of England Rugby), our DOOH screens drive visibility and awareness of their successes on the field, as well as broader community initiatives.
We are committed to early career opportunities and investment in our people, to support our focus on inclusion, progression and long term careers. We host more work experience placements than we ever have for school and college students, including a Summer Internship Programme for students from low socioeconomic and under-represented groups.

Our communities
Working alongside local councils
The Out of Home industry returns 46% of all revenue generated to the local council.
This ensures that essential monies are pumped back into local communities, healthcare and infrastructure. We work alongside Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Glasgow and Liverpool councils.
By having these direct connections with the cities, we have an open door to the locals, enabling the ability to share localised messages and amplify local non-profit groups and causes on our screens too.
We ensure that the cities we’re in benefit from us being there. No other media channel is able to give back to the local community in the same way.
Employee wellbeing
We aim to ensure Ocean is a positive, effective place to work, that provides regular opportunities for learning and development – employee wellbeing is a focus that we strive continuously to improve. We recognise Employee of the Month and Team of the Quarter, host regular Knowledge Sessions with internal and external speakers, and run tailor made training sessions, as well as celebrating awareness days and cultural moments together. These support our focus on internal development, meaningful work and clear pathways for growth.
One of our values is Freedom, which means we offer our people the flexibility and trust to make the right decisions for their clients, and their own career development. This creates an environment where people want to go above and beyond, so we do our upmost to mirror this attitude – from free office breakfasts and a great social culture to flexible, hybrid working and generous parental leave. There are also EDI and Sustainability committee groups which are optional to join.
