Premium digital out of home (DOOH) media owner Ocean Outdoor Netherlands is to acquire the digital advertising masts portfolio currently owned and operated by Clear Channel Netherlands.
Effective from January 1 2020, the transaction boosts Ocean Outdoor Netherlands’ roadside presence and brings the total number of city, retail and roadside screens operated by Ocean Outdoor in the Netherlands to 283.
The new Ocean Outdoor Netherlands assets include the iconic Triple Digital in Rotterdam (A16), Double Digital in Amsterdam (A5), Diamond in Waddinxveen (A12) and the Box, formerly known as ‘de Vis’, in Amsterdam (A4).
Meindert van den Heuvel, managing director of Ocean Outdoor Netherlands, said: “These iconic Randstad locations fit seamlessly into our network and our ambition to build the largest premium portfolio and digital network. We continue to achieve this through the development of new locations in Utrecht (A2) and Nieuwegein City Plaza, by converting existing locations to digital and through acquisitions such as this.”
Separately, Ocean Outdoor Netherlands has announced that its entire network will be open to programmatic purchase from January 2020.
