Om du letar efter ett köpcentrum med historia är Täby centrum kanske det äldsta du kan hitta. Faktum är att detta köpcentrum byggdes på platsen för en järnåldersby, mer specifikt vid Tibble gård. Platsen har länge haft ett geografiskt fördelaktigt läge och är fortfarande viktig i dag eftersom kollektivtrafiken möts här.
För att göra något sensationellt och storslaget i området valde man på 1960 talet att bygga Europas första inglasade köpcentrum. Byggnaden stod klar 1968 och välkomnade besökare från hela landet. Täby centrum hade nu tagit sin plats som ett monument för handel, butiker och företag.
