Answers to the five most frequently asked questions from DCC contributors
Every year, it’s much the same story. Just as the deadline for the Digital Creative Competition approaches, our inbox is flooded with messages from the Dutch creative community. As the tension mounts amongst agencies, brands and freelance creatives, the number of enquiries also rises. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the five most frequently asked questions for you. This way, you can get straight back to developing your brilliant idea.
Here we go:
Has my idea already been put into practice?
No. The DCC is all about new, original ideas for Digital Out of Home. So your concept doesn’t need to have been implemented before. In fact, we’re particularly keen to see ideas that explore and push the boundaries of the medium in surprising ways.
How much detail should I include when developing my idea?
Your concept does not need to be fully produced or technically developed just yet. The jury will primarily assess the originality and creativity of the idea and the way in which you utilise the possibilities of Digital Out of Home.
Do make sure, however, that the jury can fully understand and appreciate your idea. You can do this through a presentation, sketch, storyboard, script, animation or video. Above all, choose the format that best showcases your concept.
When is the deadline for submitting my idea?
You can submit your proposal by 12 noon on Friday 28 August 2026 at the latest. Registration will close after that. So don’t wait until the very last minute.
I’ve got an idea. Where should I send it?
Please email your concept to dccamsterdam@oceanoutdoor.nl. Please state clearly which brand or organisation the concept has been developed for, and whether you are entering the Commercial or Non-Profit category.
And as a bonus: when and where will you be announcing the winners?
The winners will be announced on Thursday 8 October 2026 during the awards ceremony at the Nxt Museum in Amsterdam. Gold, silver and bronze awards will be presented in the Commercial and Non-Profit categories.
