With our locations, we aim to make a positive contribution to biodiversity and are working on sustainable land management for the entire Ocean network.
Utrecht the Wall as the Beehotel
As part of this, we have created a 28-metre-high Bee Hotel in collaboration with the Municipality of Utrecht and Honey Highway. Around the supporting structure is a steel honeycomb structure with 200 nesting boxes for bees and butterflies, as well as one specially designed for wild bees. A 7,000 mΒ² flower meadow has been laid out around the bee hotel. The flower meadow contains more than 40 native flower species and open sandy areas and hills have been created especially for bees that nest in the ground.Β

Ocean UK
Ocean is not only involved in rewilding in the Netherlands; our colleagues in the UK are also creating environments where wild animals can flourish again. They have designated eighteen existing locations that are being gradually returned to nature.
