Through our efforts, we hope to create a good balance between social, economic and ecological initiatives. This also means that we incorporate sustainability throughout the entire organisation. For example, we have a new office with an A+++ energy label, we are introducing electric cars and bicycles to reduce CO₂ emissions, and we closely monitor the power consumption of our screens. At Ocean, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to operate as sustainably as possible.
At Ocean Group, we have made a general sustainability commitment:
we want to reduce CO₂ emissions by 42% by 2023 and achieve net zero by 2040.
To report on our progress, emissions are divided into three scopes:
Emissions from sources that we manage or directly control. This includes our locations and offices. Scope 1 accounts for only 1% of our total emissions and is therefore the smallest share.
This concerns the indirect emissions from purchased electricity for our screens and offices. Since 2019, the electricity we purchase has been 100% green and sourced from sustainable suppliers. Read more about this under Energy neutral.
This includes other indirect emissions, such as business travel, employee commuting and the procurement of goods and services.
We actively collaborate with our supply chain and have adjusted our procurement plan to effectively source sustainable materials. In addition, we provide employees with reusable water bottles and a sustainable mobility plan
