OUR SUSTAINABILITY PROMISE

Reduce carbon emissions by 42% by 2023 and reach net zero by 2040

When it comes to reporting progress, a company’s greenhouse gas emissions are classified into three scopes:

Scope 1

This covers emissions from sources that we own or control directly, including company facilities, such as our offices. At 1% of our total emissions, scope 1 represents the lowest share of our emissions.

Scope 2

This covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity for our offices and our screens.

  • Since 2019 all electricity sourced and paid for by us is 100% green from sustainable suppliers

Scope 3

This covers other indirect emissions including business travel, employee commuting and the supply of goods and services. We have worked with our supply chain and adjusted our procurement plan to effectively source sustainable materials. We also provide reusable water bottles for staff and have a recycling system in the office, including educational posters. Our employees are given access to sustainable travel such as a Cycle-to-work scheme, and we prioritise train travel where possible as an international business.

At Ocean Outdoor, sustainability is of great importance. Organisation-wide, we want to create a balance in social, ecological and economic areas. This means that we take sustainability into account throughout the entire organization. For example, Ocean Netherlands has a new office with an A+++ energy label, electric cars and bicycles are being introduced within the organisation to reduce CO2 emissions and the consumption of kWh on the screens is closely monitored. Within Ocean, innovative ways are continuously being devised to operate as sustainably as possible as an organization.

The CO2 performance ladder
Ocean Outdoor was founded in the Netherlands in 2019 through the merger of Interbest and Ngage Media. The operating company Ngage Media B.V. is actively working on its CO2 reduction. The CO2 performance ladder is a standard to encourage companies to act CO2-consciously in their own business operations and in the implementation of projects. This mainly concerns energy savings, the efficient use of materials and the use of increasingly sustainable energy.

More about this can be found at www.SKAO.nl.

Here you will find our most recent CO2 performance ladder certificate: CO2 performance ladder
